basically at a concert you will see a bunch of audio equipment on deck but you will see hanging speakers too, each of these (sorry for the chink image) is loaded with a woofer and two or three horns. most of the time these are ribbon horns, they're designed to vibrate a ribbon to make the audio that is pushed out through a specifically designed cone to amplify the sound. a lot of soundstage is tailored now to nigger mumbletunes where it's all low end with no patience paid to guitar attack or anything so it's just "well rounded" so everybody enjoys it.
