LLMs are not going to solve fusion because they are just not trained for that kind of problem and they can't generalise to it. It is likely that probabilistic physics models that can simulate fusion are smaller in terms of parameters and niche enough that we don't need a huge expansion of data centre capacity for them... The current expansions are almost exclusively for LLMs. Its like saying "if I flap my arms up and down fast enough I'll be able to fly"
