It takes about a decade to get a nuclear reactor built and we know how to build those, as a society. A large scale fusion reactor, even if you do believe that magical AIs figure it out for us in record time, would still be multiple decades away and would arrive much much too late to prevent catastrophic climate collapse
Fusion would be a very useful option in the long term, but there is no path forward where it's a realistic part of mitigating the climate crisis itself.
