Strypey on Nostr: OTOH mental health care has come a long way in the anglophone world since Ken Kesey ...
OTOH mental health care has come a long way in the anglophone world since Ken Kesey wrote Cuckoo's Nest, published as a novel in 1962. Yet that vision of mental wards, as torture prisons for the mentally ill, has become a stable of pop culture. I worry that's it's still provoking the same fear of seeking help with mental health challenges that JK had as a young man.
