Everyone talks about BOLT-12 but where is the progress being made on this?

You should not post invoices in a note. At least ones with any meaningful amount of money. Those can and will be swiped by routing nodes when duplicate payments come across the same ones for the same invoice. The recipient won't get any money for duplicate payments and senders lose their money anyways.
