I don't know what side I fall on this. I do think there's a difference to your other examples though. Faking data hurts science, but I'm not sure that faking authorship does. Or rather, I think it does but possibly it hurts it less than just excluding large numbers from participating at all. The ideal solution of course would be to eliminate money from science publishing entirely...",
