Something simple I didnt see in the replies is describing the shape of the data - like you give a summary of what it means in the text, and then in the alt text I would do something like "x is this, y is this, a series of lines fading from {color} to {color}, each is flat across the lower half of the range at roughly {value}, and then falls such that {color} goes to {value} etc."
Like plots dont just contain the data, they have a bunch of choices over what gets emphasized in the data, so if some data is flat the whole way and hockey sticks up at some point, that's what the plot displays more than a series of values
