As a scientist who has deeply studied mycology,
Mishroom (npub17me…lm8u) has some issues with some of the parallels
bquittem (npub1jdw…ujzl) draws between the two. Not that there aren’t any, just that it’s somewhat more complex than the way he describes.
There are maybe some parallels? Like a mycelial network is fundamentally decentralized (there is no central ‘brain’ controlling the operation) and can be quite far-reaching. I would be curious what the other parallels you see are. There isn’t a clear parallel to a fruiting body (the mushrooms you see aboveground) that I can envision, but I know a lot more about fungi than Bitcoin, so maybe I’m missing something here.
