I would still highly recommend an integer-friendly display if you can swing it, but considering that 27" 5K displays are nearly nonexistent (and the couple of options are wildly expensive), this *might* be okay. Again, I still need to test more, but it would seem that Wayland plus improved native scaling of things like fonts has papered over most of the issues you could hit.
If you're pixel-peeping or doing pixel-precise design work, I'd still recommend sticking to integer scales, though.
