They do not need that much land and effort. (I think it is called yarding instead of grazing, but the principle still applies) You still need to move the fence every couple days, but they need much less fence than cows.
Dual chicken breeds that are good foragers would probably work best for this, Iowa Blue or Wyandotte for example.
