npub1se6jndeejsjpk7hpq7e9um3m93hrs9ywsmtf7apzztlshwkgacmqtycmph (npub1se6…cmph) if you have the right number of grazing animals on the correct sized patch of pasture - you have to use hot wire fencing and move them every day or two - then the mob eats just enough grass and leaves just enough manure and stomps around making divots in the soil just enough to radically improve the soil, year after year. That’s a scenario that’s fascinated me for over twenty years. My original dream home included a small herd of cows to march about the property, grazing and improving the soil and taking the pastures from worn out grass to true multi species meadow. Life took a series of unpredictable turns, but now I have some land and two equines. It’s not enough land or enough grazers to do the mob remediation of my youthful dreams, but I also don’t have to move hot wire fencing every two days 😅
I’m still gonna make more life from their manure, even if I do have to compost it and spread it myself!
