There are many advances happening in battery technology, and many solutions on the table, so if its for grid stability then green hydrogen appears, at least on the surface, as a dubious choice.
However, when I think of hydrogen fuel, I think of it as a replacement for mobile energy storage, not for grid (and this is the first time I've heard anyone argue for using hydrogen in the grid, despite paying a lot of attention to green tech news). That is, buss, train, cars, boats, etc.
