Indeed. The very nature of renewables means that there'll always be a mismatch been peak supply and peak demand. Having enough renewables online to prevent blackouts and brownouts without a fossil fuel backup, only increases that mismatch. Without a huge lead forward in battery tech, we need new ways to store and utilize the surplus generation. Why not hydrogen, given it's useful for so many things batteries aren't?
