I am going to need to think about this a bit more, but I am predicting my conclusion will be that:
We all know and expect to leave 'archive' traces of our lives (photo albums and diaries end up in car boor sales).
But we trust others to respect us in how they use that information.
We can buy old photo albums to laugh at people, or to better understand their lives and times. That is the real ethical choice.
So look but be respectful.
