It was originally announced as a rolling release to convey the idea that it "rolls between minor versions", but it still had major versions and EOL dates. Of course this was confusing so we stopped using that term. It's easier to think of it as just not having minor versions. If you find the term rolling on a centos.org site please let me know and I'll work on getting it removed.
