This is so heartbreaking. I don’t even know what to say. Eight to ten years ago, my friends and I barely knew this was happening. We still thought this was an unimportant, niche issue – a friend of LGB that really didn’t exist in large numbers.
Shouldn’t this make Gloria Steinem feel even more like garbage, though? Surely, she was being informed of this kind of thing (through movement-connected friends) and she chose to say nothing. Same with Ellie Smeal (Feminist Majority Foundation) and so many others.
