It does seem the that the options of warm weather, affordability, and not an extremist christian theocracy cuts out almost every state. NM is a possibility. It seems there's just no other option but to move north and suffer winters again. Which I don't want at all. So I'm sitting here in a theocratic state that will happily participate in Trump's worst experiments of autocracy, trying to figure out what to do. As a single retiree I don't have the income to get the kind of home I want in CA or various other states, as compared to here in AL. It's a real quandary. Move to a beat up little shack in a blue state or stay in a nice house in a red state where, for all I know, they may end up closing the borders down in some future Trump manic episode. I mean, we can't afford to limit our imaginations to what could happen in the next few years.
