What you describe at the start of your note is “unschooling” not homeschooling.

In fact most I know in the unschooling realm are vehemently against the word homeschool…but I think it’s more then “school” conjunction than it is the “home” aspect.

The reality is, and note this is coming from someone (myself) whom:

1. Has an earned higher Ed degree

2. Has completed half of a doctorate (but won’t finish it)

3. Taught and was on the leadership/admin team for few schools over the years.

UNLESS one wants to go into a highly regulated field (ie engineering or wants to be a brain surgeon…)

College is a waste. I use about 1% of what I learned through my various degrees on a daily basis in my business, life, and impact.

Additionally, there are thousands upon thousands of careers that don’t require a college degree but rather rely on certifications and/or “what have you created lately”.

Now one’s immediate response to that statement is usually “yea but working at Mcadonalds isn’t what I envision for my child”

To which I have three replies.

A. But what about what your child wants?

B. I’m not referencing MickyD’s…I’m talking about respected files such as airline pilots and other “high wage paying” careers.

C. And penultimately what does God want for your child?

====
Beyond the nitty gritty, the bigger question at hand is: do you really want to be a wage slave? Does one want thei child(ren) to be?

I believe not…and so just like we have to empower and set others up for success when it comes to Bitcoin, sovereignty, etc…so we do with leading their child to discover what they want to move closer to in their life and impact.
