Homeschool is such a broad umbrella that can describe a wide range programs and applications. I know people who homeschool their kids, and it basically entails them letting their kids do what they want all day while do the same. Needless to say, their kids a woefully behind and nowhere near their schooled peers. One kid is almost 10yo and can't read. But there also great programs and curriculum available for homeschoolers, but they require significant parental involvement in a daily basis, and a structured environment that actually delineates schooling from hanging out playing video games.
