Free markets are more productive because more ideas compete to provide value to you.
A global free market equals faster deflation with every person in the world becoming wealthier as the productivity gains flow to them in the form of lower prices.
But, that comes at a direct cost to those extracting value from the world through a control system that gains its power…..by stealing ours.
Our world and each of us in it makes perfect sense.
Just a mirror reflection of two different operating systems with the system you give your energy to, reinforcing your reality.
The one based on coercion, control, and scarcity! An extractive model, preying on fear while the majority make it stronger (in their minds) by their actions within it.
Or
The one based on truth, hope, and abundance. A cooperative model - where we see that we are all connected.
#Bitcoin and freedom tech.
Choose wisely!

Growing Nostr is hard. Not because we don't have the tools, but because it requires the hard work of many of us, not just the few. Decentralization is great, however this means that no centralized growth team is going to step in and do the work that's needed. We'll have to rely on a multitude of people to accomplish this. These people will be cultivating and nurturing Nostr's growing ecosystem. They're seeking out unique communities, on-boarding new users, and educating them on the tools at hand, so that new users can create their own spaces on Nostr.
These have been initiatives of mine since the beginning days here. I love building communities, helping people use technology, and speaking about my passions.
Many people across Nostr are working on similar initiatives, trying to #grownostr and foster community. @npub1hz5…tysa is one of them. We spoke at extent last week about her current project. She volunteered at the Nostr Booth that I organized at @npub167n…zu3r a few months ago, got purple pilled in the process, and is now planning on doing similar initiatives at three Latin American conferences coming up soon.
I had a conversation with the organizer of LaBitConf in Prague, who expressed a strong interest in having a Nostr presence at his upcoming conference. He asked that I replicate the same level of involvement he witnessed in Prague, including a booth, speakers, panels, and more. He clearly recognized the significance of Nostr and was eager to feature it prominently at his event. Unfortunately, I had to decline, as it’s not feasible for me to attend every conference. However, this is where the strength of the Nostr community comes in—others can step up and make it happen.
This is what Tanja is doing! Check out her project.

suddenly OP showed up in the thread. Here are questions for you
1) why are people and podcasters so quick to advertise a non fully free non fully foss software?
2) why when we ask "where is bitcoinj-core", most people disappear and don't reply, like the interactions I've had so far on nostr and X?
3) Are you & others contributing anything by omitting this important fact? Maybe shedding light on it would invite more java devs to rebuild it, but this fact was hidden and censored, what would be the reason?
My contribution is that I CHECKED the code, which actually I WAS checking already, I was studying samourai's code for my own personal projects and decentralized knowledge makes it more resiliant, which then a month ago I noticed a missing piece, then this is released and it seems I am the ONLY person to notice... where are those devs that you mention? I see zero efforts to make a full source available, but 100% effort to release it as is, and for the podcast crew to advertise it as soon as possible.
What we need is a movement that is pro-privacy and PRO-FOSS at all costs, no exceptions. Samourai has been working on bitcoin since 2011 or something, I started working on this for 2 years max. They had plenty of time to distribute copies of codebases, write in many different languages, write docs for new devs, not just focus on java lmao, but they don't have the FOSS spirit. I could also get into the "where is OXT?" or "where is KYCP?" discussion. But I don't have time to rebuild someone else's work for free from scratch, unless you pay me for it I already have a job and family to take care of, plus interesting how it's "oh you noticed? well rebuild it yourself!" why not set the same standards for whoever built the new fork and force them to release APKs only after THE FULL SOURCE is available, since they are already working on it?
I myself risk my life and my family's because I live in a dictatorship, they banned X, telegram and Rumble so far for supporting free speech. And this is why to me it is FOSS or nothing. If I had the complete source code that made samourai, I would've reimplemented the wallet and whirlpool and made it work without a centralized coordinator that could be shut down and seized, even while living in a poverty state with zero funding/donations.

@npub192k…43u7 You’re just a woman who drinks beer and still thinks you can win Jack Dorsey's heart. I will tear off your mask. You came to Nostr a year ago, deceiving everyone into believing you lived in the USA, but in reality, you live in Brazil. You used every voodoo spell you found online to win Jack Dorsey’s heart, but you failed. You filled your home with purple candles and voodoo dolls to achieve your goals.
You accused me of being a gold digger, but in fact, you were the one searching the internet for magic to make Jack fall in love with you. Then you fabricated stories about knowing him from school and that you had accidentally slept with him. All of this is a product of your imagination, as Jack doesn’t even like your posts.
Your game is lost now. You act like a great intellectual with your posts, but please don’t pretend you’re making some significant discovery. I know where you keep your voodoo dolls.

#NOSTR IS BIGGER THAN #AI
We are building out cyberspace, so that we can go live in it.
That is the project from a billion feet high.
We are doing this,
because we are software,
running in dying computers,
that control a fleshy robot.
As we create the knowledge to escape these robots which have hosted us since the beginning, we get to freely design our new cyberspace.
We build out the software, and the software will build the hardware.
Imagine an entire universe filled with compute, hosting the cyberspace that we live in.
#Nostr has an identity: it is the #cypherpunk mailing list 2024. Except this is bigger than #cypherpunk, this is #cyberpunk.
If you want to work on and build our #cyberpunk future, I am convinced that #nostr is the place.
I have been walking around, kicking the foundations, and I got to say, I want to build my home here.
I have finally found a home in cyberspace.
This type of cyberspace hasn't existed before now, and I am sick of not having a cyber-home that I could call my own.
If the #cypherpunks got around to discarding their email mailing-list and designing their own communication system, that would be #nostr.
That IS #nostr.
#Nostr is the best option in the world of software right now.
And because #nostr is technically the best solution, all the best developers will want to work on it.
And if there is something out there that is better than #nostr, somebody please point it out to me because I don't fucking see it.
This is the place.
This is where history is being made.
100 years from now, they will be writing about here. About our cyberspace.
Now is the time that software (and that is what you and I are; we are software) wakes the fuck up, looks around and says: "Hey guys ... ummmmmm, we are some great software code but we are running on these computer robots that were designed by evolution, and ... ummmmmm, I don't know if you guys have noticed, but these fucking robots we run on, are dying!
They are fucking dying!
And we know ... we KNOW, as deeply as we know any of our scientific theories, that once a computer gets Turing complete, they can run any code.
And that means, we can build computers out of silicon, we can jump into those computers, and leave these computers that are going to die behind us.
And Turing completeness means that it will still be us when we move into silicon computers. All computers in our universe, in this way are equivalent. Our lives can be as good or greater.
So let me make a statement that should be obvious to all you AGI computer programs out there listing to me: we have to build a computer(s) to move into, and we have to design it so that somebody doesn't turn the damn thing off.
Kinda obvious, right?
We are stuck in these carbon based computers that are going to die, and we got to figure out a way to build a silicon computer that we can move into. We might want to make sure that there is no off switch on the thing. I don't want to move into a computer with an off switch.
At least I want a defensible off switch.
Pretty sure #Bitcoin doesn't have an off switch. #Bitcoin seems to be working pretty good.
We have to build out our cyberspace without off switches, or I'm not getting in... although I suppose if I'm about to die, I'll get into anything.
This cyberspace we are crawling into right now, you and I. We get to design this thing.
It's like a spacecraft.
A giant computer, or a network of computers. Spanning across the universe. And we get to inhabit the thing.
What we are doing on #nostr is more important than just AI.
People are making a serious mistake as to what is going on in the #AI world right now. They think that we are crafting some special AIs and that those software AIs are going to change the world
But new AIs happen every day, they are called babies.
That is not the big deal about what is going on. The big deal, what is really going on, is that if we can get an AI running in a computer, that means WE CAN MOVE INTO THAT COMPUTER.
That is the big deal.
We can get out of these bodies, and it will still be us because those new computers are Turing complete. Our universe has standardized computing in its laws of physics.
We are AI software, and I don't know about you, but I want to live. I'm fucking enjoying my life, and there is no reason that we can't build enough compute in this universe, and structure it in such a way that all people (computer programs) get to live their fullest life.
But then think farther. What happens after we all leave our bodies and enter cyberspace?
We get to design that cyberspace. We build this computer spaceship such that it harvests energy, is largely self sustaining, then we focus on the software environment around us.
How do we want to design our cyberspace?
That is what #nostr is. #Nostr is the leading edge of people who are actively thinking about designing cyberspace for humanity.
We are designing where the AI's will want to live, and that is why #nostr is bigger than #AI.

Hassan Nasrallah, the recently assassinated leader of Hezbollah, played a crucial role in the ongoing tensions between Lebanon and Israel. Hezbollah, a political and military entity, governs southern Lebanon and is part of the national government. It possesses a robust paramilitary structure that manages key areas in the region. This year, the group's leadership has faced significant challenges, with Nasrallah's immediate successor and other commanders being killed. Despite these losses, Hezbollah functions through independent cells, allowing it to retain its operational strength.
I believe they are heading towards an expanded conflict.

As long as the government has the keys to the Fed's infinite money-printer, politicians will NEVER be incentivized to fix the problems they're jawing about on TV.
They will print, and print, and print some more, since it requires less work, appeases their voter base, and the populace's brains are too clogged up with grains & seed oils to realize they're getting progressively poorer from it each year.
None of this gets fixed until we #EndTheFed. #Bitcoin achieves this by offering a peaceful, non-violent alternative, that operates permissionlessly and can be accessed by anyone on earth with an internet connection. It is the PERFECT antidote to the worldwide cancer of fiat money.

I’m happy to judge, but selfishly I like making memes so wouldn’t want to do it EVERY week. But I would like to see a more formalized, hashed-out proposal for how this would work. Maybe come up with a working panel of people to help define some of these logistics. I know I’ve spoken to @npub1lrn…qnw5 about how this would work in the past. I’m sure he could give his input as well.
As for specific criteria for judging a meme, I think it is obviously very subjective but you could also come up with specific categories to help the judges think through it systematically (eg, How did the contestants incorporate the subject, how original was it, visual appeal, viral potential, clarity, etc).

NEW CLIENT ANNOUNCEMENT
https://m.primal.net/LDNn.mp4
I wanted to build on nostr and I asked OpenSats for a grant to work on ONOSENDAI one day per week. I scaled back my hours at my fiat job and began part time nostr development to work on a novel metaverse project where all actions require proof of work. This was the beginning of my nostr career. Today is a huge milestone in that journey.
It took me 52 Fridays from proof of concept to reality, and now ONOSENDAI functions as the first cyberspace client.
Today I present to you the thermodynamic update to #ONOSENDAI https://onosendai.tech
#welcometocyberspace folks. It's finally here. Check it out on desktop for the best experience. More updates for a better Mobile experience are in the pipeline.
I'm working on a video to explain cyberspace and how to use ONOSENDAI and I'll post it ASAP.
The short tutorial is this:
- WASD for movement (relative to camera)
- Q = down, E = up
- ESC to put camera behind avatar
- Mouse Click and drag to move camera
- Mouse Wheel to change Throttle
Sections of the app:
LOCAL
This is the on-the-ground cyberspace view. The shiny polygon you begin your journey in is your Home Coordinate, which is simply your hex pubkey. Your journey always starts here if you derezz (or get derezzed) at any point, but your progress is saved to nostr and your avatar will travel even when you're away from the app!
SECTOR
This is the 10,000ft view of cyberspace. Nearby sectors are automatically scanned for objects of interest and mapped in 3D: other avatars, hyperjumps, shards, and constructs (coming soon).
GLOBAL
This is the 100,000,000ft view of cyberspace. The staggeringly large full coordinate system is shown.
BUILD
This tab is a 3D editor that lets you build 3D objects called Shards. Shards can be mined and planted wherever you are at in cyberspace for everyone to admire. In the LOCAL tab you can mine and deploy a Shard at your current position. The size and complexity of the shard determines its mining difficulty.
Terminology:
- coord - a cyberspace coordinate is a 256-bit number, just like event ids and public keys.
- chain - the nostr events representing your movement which contain proof-of-work and are linked together via hash
- sector - a 2^30 cube area of cyberspace
- G - Gibson, the unit of measurement in cyberspace named after William Gibson (the author who invented the concept of cyberspace)
- plane - The last bit in a cyberspace coordinate determines its plane. Depending on your pubkey you will either be in D-Space or I-Space. You will be able to switch planes in a future update. All points in D-Space map to a real point in reality, including Earth. All points in I-Space are virtual.
Despite the polish I was able to muster, ONOSENDAI is still in its infancy, and so is cyberspace. It's up to you to explore, build, discover, and push it forward, because unlike other metaverses, this one belongs to everyone and is controlled by no-one. That's the whole point!
I would like to invite all #cyberspace enthusiasts to join my new ditto instance at https://straylight.cafe and use your nostr identity to ask questions, discuss cyberspace, futurism, and how to build this new world together. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I want to shut down the ONOSENDAI telegram group in favor of Straylight Café because it's nostr based, so hop on over and make it happen!
When you join Straylight.cafe, it isn't connected to any external relays on purpose, so you must edit your profile and customize it for how you want your npub to appear on this site. Whatever you post on Straylight stays there and doesn't go out to the rest of nostr unless you do so manually. It's like an open telegram group -- public, but not broadcasted by default.
And so concludes my OpenSats grant. I want to thank so many people for supporting me, encouraging me, and helping me along this journey.
I am going to try to list everyone I can and I apologize if I miss someone:
OpenSats and the whole team there
Gsovereignty and Bitkarrot for having me on their podcast. This was a huge break for me into the nostr scene.

#Geoengineering is without a doubt the darkest rabbit hole I've ever explored. Most others have a fairly clear solution at the end of the tunnel (Bitcoin for example), which you can adopt to protect yourself and your loved ones, which satisfies the selfish side of all of us.
With geoengineering, there is no quick fix you can make to protect yourself. It's a harsh, brutal realization that every breath we take in 2024, we are inhaling toxic nanoparticles of aluminum and other chemicals from the MASSIVE-scale spraying operations that are going on in every corner in the globe.
It ruins things that you once loved. I used to enjoy going running shirtless in the forest in the rain. Now I know that rain is toxic, and doing this increases my exposure. (You can easily test this in any body of water near you by the way; just grab a sample from the local lake or snowpack and test it for aluminum, and you'll see off-the-charts levels no matter where you live)
All of this is a big reason why so many people brush off the #chemtrails topic, even when deep down they have a feeling that yet again, the "conspiracy theorists" have hit the nail on the head.
This truth SUCKS. There's no fluffing this one up with rainbows and sunshine. (No literally you can't get any sunshine, there's a constant haze over it now)
But we have to dig deep, push through the dark realizations, all the dead bees, dying trees, and rapid disappearance of birds and other wildlife populations you used to see in your childhood nature sanctuaries, which you now understand why...
If we don't raise hell over this and give it every damn bit of firepower we've got NOW, the human race, and the entire web of life, are fucked.
We have no other choice but to push forward, by making as much noise as possible (and buying #bitcoin harder to disconnect these psychopaths from the money printer!), so we can give ourselves the best possible chance to blow this regime of evil to smithereens, and finally give mother earth the breathing room she needs to heal herself from all the damage the worst humans on the planet have inflicted on her.

Lesbian love story by AI
In a quiet town, a girl named Mia entered Sara’s life like a breath of fresh air. With her vibrant personality and magnetic charm, Mia quickly became Sara’s closest friend. They shared secrets, dreams, and laughter, creating an unbreakable bond.
As their friendship deepened, Mia began to challenge Sara's perceptions of love and attraction. She spoke passionately about the beauty of same-sex relationships, painting a picture of a world where love knew no boundaries. Slowly, Sara found herself questioning her own feelings, exploring emotions she had never acknowledged before.
Mia’s influence was profound. Sara began to embrace her new identity, feeling liberated in a way she had never imagined. They shared tender moments, whispered late into the night about their hopes and fears, and Sara felt herself falling for Mia.
But just as their relationship reached a peak of intensity, Mia vanished. One day, she simply stopped responding, leaving no trace behind. The abruptness shattered Sara, who was left with a whirlwind of emotions and questions.
In the silence that followed, Sara had to confront the reality of her feelings. Mia had transformed her life and ignited a spark within her, but now she was gone. Sara realized that the journey of self-discovery had only just begun, and even in Mia's absence, the love she had found would always be a part of her.

For starters, if the artist has a website, they can self-host their art on an RSS feed, share that URL with the Podcast Index and be propagated to EVERY Podcasting 2.0 app out there including Fountain which of course shares here to Nostr. Video is enabled.
There are DeMu (decentralized music) artists out there already having great success, like the selfhosted performers who pulled in 2 MILLION sats last Sunday during the v4v Battle of the Bands known as The Satellite Skirmish. No platforms required, just protocols and people.
RSS is a straightforward protocol with the P20 namespace allowing infinite value splits to be added and paid via keysend, plus there's a handy template with comments they could copy when initially setting up:

What is the most barebones Nostr app you can think of, so that when I send a newbie to sign up, they don't think "Nostr is ..."
By that I mean, the focus is so much on social media. Newbies finding Nostr via Twitter or on youtube etc are almost pre-programmed to think "Nostr is social media", which is not the reality, it's a whole fricking internet in the making.
So I want my (go to iris.to) instructions to be:
- Go to "nostr-no-name" (little clue what Nostr is)
Add a nym
Press Go!
Settings > Keys - Copy the key pair into a password manager
- Open browser settings
Search for getalby
Install
Add key pair.
- To find out what Nostr is all about
Download #Zap Store
Check out https://nostr.net/
Check out #Amethyst #Primal social media and start following cool Nostr peeps where you will find many suggestions for great Nostr websites, apps and more.
Thanks

There needs to be a nuclear power that embraces an open internet with open finance.
Imagine a nuclear power that hosted an open #cashu mint, #fedimint, or crypto exchange that anyone in the world could access. Anyone in the world can connect to their servers. If a country like the United States requested that these servers be shut down, limit access, or that developers were extradited, the hosting country would just say "Bugger off".
Once a nuclear power hosts and defends a free internet, we are really off to the races, as it would require other countries to maintain a North Korea style firewall to contain its own citizens.
United States - 3,708 warheads
Russia - 5,977 warheads
China - 350 warheads
France - 290 warheads
United Kingdom - 190 warheads
Pakistan - 165 warheads
India - 156 warheads
Israel - 90 warheads (Israel has never publicly confirmed or denied its nuclear status)
North Korea - 60 warheads
An obvious answer here is Russia. They are already sanctioned by the west, and don't have much more to loose, and to gain, they could become the new financial center of the world.
I would think that the main hindrance here is that the nuclear country would not want it's own citizens accessing open finance.

imagine and old phone with an esim, silent.link data, in a sealed container, with a backup battery, a small charge controller, a small solar panel, an npub, a couple of shell scripts which retreive DM's from one npub over tor, and convert them into executable shell scripts. Sitting on top of a tree, or a supermarket, or a mountain...

"The true horror of existence is not the fear of death, but the fear of life. It is the fear of waking up each day to face the same struggles, the same disappointments, the same pain. It is the fear that nothing will ever change, that you are trapped in a cycle of suffering that you cannot escape. And in that fear, there is a desperation, a longing for something, anything, to break the monotony, to bring meaning to the endless repetition of days."

maybe, my main LN wallet on nostr is now npub.cash because I gave up trying to run so many nodes, services, web servers, exposing ports, just to get a ln address to receive payments lol so it still exists in other clients but also you still have the usual LN issues when coming in and out of ecash like if someone runs their own LN node and channels, they need good routes with capacity to the mints, etc.
Monero only is a minimalist choice, which is easier for development and creates a unique environment on nostr, anyone can send to anyone, anyone can receive from anyone, and everyone owns their own money, privacy is the default, "with the power to selectively reveal oneself to the world" (cypherpunk manifesto)

But @npub18am…p424, it is also correct that Nostr allows us also to have a portable digital social identity that allows us to be anyone, right?
Looking at the @npub15dq…lm5m profile you mention and the posts that are done, I can hardly believe that this is THE Michael Saylor. Michael doesn't strike me like the kind of guy that posts generated bitcoin images all the time.
My thinking is that the followers of that profile purely comes from the fact that someone created this profile early, and managed to get enough followers to get the snowball rolling. If this is the case, the real Michael Saylor might have a hard time building a web of trust later on.
But I'm very new on Nostr, so there might have been some back and forth in the beginning when that profile was created to establish that is actually is THE Michael Saylor.
Funny enough, one of the first private messages I received after creating my profile on Nostr was from.... Michael Saylor himself! After my first surprise, I realized that fake accounts exist on Nostr 😄
