Oli Genn_Bash

Oli Genn-Bash is the Head of Mycology at Product Earth and Co-founder/former President of the University of Kent Canterbury Psychedelics Society, which was established in 2009. For the past 15 years he has been involved in advocating the use of psychedelic plants, fungi, and cannabis through engaging with grass-roots community organisations, whilst collaborating with notable figures in the psychedelic field to organise talks in places such as London, Margate, and Brighton. Throughout this time Oli has spoken on a variety of topics, spanning from psychedelics and philosophy to topics such as the endocannabinoid system, functional mushrooms, and a particular focus on the transformative role of psychedelics in providing joyful experiences.
Oli has an MA in Political Thought & Practices of Resistance from the University of Kent, which allowed him the freedom to explore the intersection of politics, philosophy, and mysticism, with a specific focus on stand-up comedy as a practice of resistance. His research focused on how psychedelic substances such as magic mushrooms and LSD have shaped the performance and philosophy of certain comedians from the USA, with a particular focus on the work of the late great Bill Hicks.

Oli is keen to embody a sense of joy and playfulness as much as possible, often bringing this energy into his creative work as a psychedelic musician in the band Codex Serafini
