I think it is a uniquely American by-product. The underlying idealism of freedom for the individual blended with Christianity.
I want to like Libertarianism as much as I want to like Socialism. The thing that gets in the way is that we are inherently sinful people who don't act in the interests of others

Oh it’s really unrealistic but I still love it. To me it’s how bureaucracy could look if done perfectly. It’ll never happen but I still love the personal ethos of seeking to better ourselves

Thanks for the explanation. I expected as much from it not being open source.
I do have apple silicon but really wanted something self hosted to be mobile accessible. Can’t justify cost of building my own box at home for AI at the moment.
Will take a look at the lifetime Pro. I have a metamask wallet so should be able to get it setup

My family is definitely going through a natural evolution away from reliance on state to self-sustaining this year.
Wife is starting to realise the lies about nutrition, health, etc. Ironically it's through Instagram which we know has been used by state actors to control the narrative.

Spent a bit of time redoing my website (huwfulcher.com). Having an absolute blast now that I’ve reframed its purpose.
Rather than making it for OTHERS I’ve made it for ME.
It’s a place I like to visit. That subtle shift in perspective means I don’t worry about “what should I put on there?” I put on what I want.
We’re big on reclaiming our sovereignty online with #nostr. A personal website which is foundational to your identity should be a cornerstone of that.

2023 was a “rest” year for me from goal setting. I entered the year badly burnt out and needing a reset.
2024 is my year to tentatively set some goals.

A question about #nostr and #freedom
The decentralised nature of Nostr means that once something is posted it can’t really be deleted. Some relays might respect the request to be deleted but there’s no guarantee.
How does this conflict with the aim of freedom we’re pushing for?
Isn’t the right to have something withdrawn or be forgotten a part of freedom?
Not a critique but a through, please discuss!
