No, because we only get the link to the gif from the relay. After that we’re using Kingfisher (third-party image view SDK) to load it. I hate using third-party SDKs for UI, but I haven’t spent the time to see if there’s a better way or not. Kingfisher is pretty popular with iOS devs though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Made the requested changes to this PR. A new object called RelayModel now owns the log and the RelayMetadata. The log is now an ObservedObject of the view rather than a StateObject.

Next time you see that, can you try tapping a profile picture to load a profile instead of restarting? I think it’s not that the relays are not connecting. I think it has to do with the UI not knowing when to update with new content.

I’ve seen that a few times recently. But instead of restarting if I tap on any user, it will try to show their profile and then instantly go back to the main feed with new content loaded. I’ll have to try to recreate it in the sim.

Both apps must be registering the same URL scheme: “nostr”. So the OS decides which will get it. Maybe it’s always the latest installed one.

No, Apple enforces privacy settings at the OS level. If you can see all images and have not given the app you’re in permission, then it probably Apple’s image picker view, which runs in a separate process from the app you’re in. Then you select specific images to allow for the app.

Censorship attempts. I expect that there will eventually be a very few “best relays” to be on and that those might eventually be blocked somehow in some jurisdictions. But it’s not so hard to create another relay and serve all the same events.

This would be OS dependent, but on iOS when clients launch WoS with a url, that url could include a callback url or scheme parameter, which you could then open from WoS when the transaction is done. It might look like:
walletofsatoshi:lightning:<invoice>?callback=nostr
So WoS would read that parameter and open the url “nostr://“ at the end, which would launch the initiating app.
