With the Nos 1.2 update, you can use Nos to create, edit, and delete lists of your favorite people and accounts! We're also bringing you fixes for the biggest issues in the previous version:
- Fixed: restarting app reverts to Following rather than selected list or relay
- Fixed: lists change positions randomly
- Fixed: adding and removing relays is not reflected in the feed filter
- Fixed: text fields sometimes don't work on onboarding screens
- Fixed: main action button is not visible on iPad on "Build Your Network" onboarding screen
- Fixed: crash when processing a malformed delete event

We’ve added lists to [Nos](https://nos.social/install) in version 1.1! You can create a list in another app like listr.lol and then view the feed for that list in Nos. Here’s the full set of changes in this version:
- Added lists to the app so you can see feeds from specific accounts you've added to the list. You can create your lists with listr and view their feeds from the Nos app.
- Nos now publishes the hashtags it finds in your note when you post. This means it works the way you’ve always expected it to work.
- Updated the default relays that are added when you create an account.
- Fixed display of Mastodon usernames
- Fixed crash related to tracking delete events.

We’ve released Nos 1.0.2 on TestFlight for all our beta testers and submitted it to Apple for review for our App Store users in Australia and New Zealand. Here’s what we improved in this version:
- Fixed typo in minimum age warning

We’re excited to announce that we are now live in Australia and New Zealand, complete with an updated onboarding workflow designed to help new users understand keys, find people to follow, and create their first post. Yeah we send background notifications and then it triggers the app to silently check relays for those events. iOS restricts opening up apps in the background based on how often the user opens it in the foreground. Open Nos on a semi regular basis then apple will let it get all of your notifications. It’s a tricky balance.

I’m curious why you need two accounts to switch from public to private relays. Nos and I believe Amethyst allow you to post to specific relays. Nos also allows you to read from specific relays. Damus has some of this functionality as well.

We’re back with another hidden feature in Nos!
User Handles
This identifier is another mechanism of verifying a public key belongs to the account you think it does. Formatted like an email address, it often sits in a user profile.
Nos users can set a user handle in Nos either after signing up for a Nostr account or by logging in with an existing private key.

Of course, but we are trying to get a broad variety of people on who are going to use bitcoin and lightning but are talking about other things. One thing we discovered in our user research was that the nostr community was welcoming and friendly, many folks who didn't know about bitcoin liked using zaps, but that people wanted to see people talking about other things.

We're excited to announce a new initiative to get creators and journalists on to Nostr. This is a project organized by nos.social with @npub12vk…pugg, @npub1w0r…cu4x, @npub13my…v3qk, @npub18m7…q955, and @npub1yzv…rf8q. The goal is to get a diversity of content on to nostr and show those creators and journalists that the nostr model of zaps and the new subscription content over nostr is a better alternative to centralized advertising driven platforms. #value4value
Please share this with creators and journalists you know who are already on Nostr and also those who might want to join. This will include both getting these folks on to the nostr apps which make sense for them, setting them up with a wallet, teaching them how to be successful on nostr, and importantly promoting them through a bunch of channels on nostr so they can build and audience.
We don't have the deep pockets of meta and tiktok, nor their powerful AI driven algorithms, but we've got something that can be more powerful, people.
Creators and Journalists know they're stuck sharecropping on centralized platforms that can demonetize or delete or just shadow ban their accounts. One day their content gets broadcast to the world, the next the algorithm doesn't even show it to their followers. Their revenue is dependent on getting a cut from an opaque and arbitrary advertising system.
So, share these links, if you're a creator or journalist sign up, and when we start promoting these folks on nostr, check out what they're doing and if you like it, send them zaps. This is open to both existing nostr creators and journalists and new ones we'll onboard.
