Believing that the gap is filled by mass media and materialism is an ideology too, it's a symptom.
The crayon analogy I like because I think it's childish to think you can imagine what the true greatness of existence is. You can give expression to the feeling you have when you try to imagine, that's something else, but as soon as someone starts to fix an image, the gap of uncertainty is filled with that which hasn't been discovered yet and is taken for true.
I think the most sane approach is to dare to leave open that which is unknown. That doesn't mean you can't have faith, but it does mean no personification, identification, or any kind of fixation of that which is uncertain.

Just as an excavator operator can feel the end of the excavator bucket, a race car driver can feel the car tires, or an ice skater can feel the steel cutting into the ice, you can perceive similar stimuli in extension of with we consider the physical confines of your neural network.
The discrepancy to explain this classically vs. holistically is that in the classical sense you are simply mechanically extended to feel the vibrations coming through the medium which you are touching, in a holistic sense you are one with what classically would be seen as the medium; it is part of you.
There is no proof for either, so we can't claim to know how this works exactly, but the holistic approach is a framework that has greater potential understanding and experimenting.

AI is a cross reference tool. Do not try use it to replace your own imagination. It does not produce art, because it doesn't have imagination. It can't autonomously prompt for itself, thus it can't produce new information. It is not creative, it can only mix and reproduce. It is an extension of our capabilities, a tool only!

The reason we have so many dumb influencers is because of social media and how it's used, the discovery process and the influence of algorithms. Click baiting, thumbnails, hype frame-words, emotional triggers to respond, sensationalism, reply engagement and the desire by a certain kind of person to want to become famous on the internet.
This leads to mediocre content, false hyped up information, unscientific interpretation, bad conclusions and scientism.

As built according to protocol it has found its form. You can also think of it in terms of design criteria. Under conditions favorable to humans we see many design criteria being met in perfect form. A circle, a triangle, etc. Or a car, four wheels, front wheel steering, main brakes on the front wheels, all of which will not improve due to the conditions it is designed for. Or trees, root structure, stem, branches, photosynthesis with leaves or similar, this emerged by these design criteria so little will change unless conditions change.

I think it'll pan out in the future because of open source access. But right now it's hurting the actual meaningful content by allowing gaming as a growth mechanism. I think ideas like these come together because of dialectics. By studying I'm learning how to think like those before me. Ideas, discoveries, inventions are a sum of formulated thoughts that came before them.
The reason I like the pizza metaphor in this case is because it's been used to falsely describe #Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a scaling denominator because the total supply adjusts to the market. Pizza doesn't do that, a pizza is only functional in a fixed ratio to its total, nutritional value.

My wife wondered what would stop regions from gaining autonomy from the region it's in. So for example Catalonia could become autonomous, but what would stop Barcelona from becoming autonomous from Catalonia? And after that what would stop Girona and Taragona from becoming their own autonomous regions? There's a size limit for what we consider a pizza, and when it's divided you get slices that can't get much smaller or larger either. If you make it much larger or too small, people will identify it as something else. Same will work for governance of small city states or regions, people identify strongly with where they're from. The people who live there don't want to split off from what they identify with because it requires building a new identity. Just like a 15' or a 3/16" slice of pizza would be considered weird. People wouldn't stand for receiving it nor paying for it in kind after ordering it.

I can see Mars from my balcony but it doesn't look spectacular at all to me. It doesn't have any air to breathe, animals, forests, no grass fields and no magnetic field to protect it from the radiation of the sun. It probably does have tons of gold, lithium and all that, but no #Bitcoin!
It takes anywhere between 3-22 minutes for light to travel to earth, so it wouldn't be feasible to run a node or to mine bitcoin there most of the year.
