Poem a day, Day #17
Remember when we had Tuesday; cycles of light and darkness on repeat?
Her name was Circadia, and we danced to her beat.
She died, when abandoned, that illuminated sphere.
It was blue to a pin then gone, as well as the “year.”
Now endless void envelopes our craft of old air and cold steel.
Unburdened by up or down, aimless, desperate to feel,
The warmth of Circadia, the light that she gave,
Periodically, reliably, life-giving rays.
So no longer creatures of poetic Carpe Diem.
Dutifully replaced by Ad Astra Ad Infinitem.
