Spoke with a man in his 70s last night. He grew up in Soviet Armenia. As a young child, he watched his grandfather get arrested and taken from his home in the middle of the night. His grandfather was shipped to a gulag where he died within a year. His crime? He had started a secret business as a cobbler, trying to feed his family with an honest trade. This was illegal and he paid the ultimate price. Much of his family eventually immigrated to the US, starting over with nothing.

Capitalism gets a lot of hate from the left and it *has* been corrupted. However, let us not forget the horror show that is the alternative. Human beings want to be free. We want to make choices about where we live, what we do for a living, religious beliefs and all the rest. We are driven towards this, it is our natural state of being.
