"content": "One of my highlights of a recent trip to Darwin, Australia, was getting to do some astrophotography by the giant termite mounds. These things are incredible! Towering above me, it's mind boggling that they were built by tiny little ants. They can grow past 4m (!!!) and survive for over 100 years. Amazingly a 2m mound can be created in as little as 5 years, in which time the termites may shift as much as a quarter of a tonne of soil and several tonnes of water. 😯\n\nThis huge one lined up perfectly with the Milky Way core, which was super visible in the darkness of the Northern Territory.\n\n\n📸: nikon d850\n🔭: Sigma 14mm f1.8\nTripod: Sirui w2204\nLit by @lumecube\n\n#nostr #photography #photostr #AUStriches #art #astro #photo\n\nhttps://image.nostr.build/0075e9d49610147f9f6e51605021e9c524b02b959455f9e6cbcd01471ab713ba.jpg\n\nhttps://image.nostr.build/0b74dd4bca6266f0dec7da98fff73ee4d0b393a446db474f6aa20df10d434fbd.jpg",
