Nostriches - I was speaking with awayuki (npub1e4q…0p76) and ken (npub1x5z…68fe) about pain points on accepting Bitcoin in Japan. Tax regulations are one of the primary concerns around using Bitcoin.
In awayuki's case, she is donating all of her bitcoin payments to OpenSats (npub10pe…n34f) so she doesn't have to wrestle with taxes. While we are grateful for her contribution, it would be better to give her tools to allow her more options.
One option would be to automatically split payments to a personal wallet and a wallet for taxes. Is this currently possible in a simple way? A second option would be instant BTC to Yen conversion, similar to jack mallers (npub1cn4…3vle) Strike - which isn't yet available in Japan.
Awayuki came to Nostr first without prior knowledge of Bitcoin. I love that we are attracting creators like her and anything we can do to make her experience with payments easier would be good for both the Nostr and Bitcoin ecosystems.
