The two major themes I can see myself being pulled to fight for this year are #Bitcoin as resistance money and fighting those that would have #Bitcoin become Fiat2.0. Mark Goodwin and Whitney Webb (npub1g05…40hv) have been beating this drum, as well as our upcoming TPBPod (npub1fpc…4sld) ep with John and Reyna from Mi Primer Bitcoin El Salvador (npub17cy…4ml3), and many others of course including most of you here on #nostr.
Something John said from Mi Primer Bitcoin El Salvador (npub17cy…4ml3) continues be top of mind for me:
“I do think that #Bitcoin is inevitable, I don’t think it is inevitably good though. Bitcoin’s going to change the world, and that is where Bitcoin needs us…because if there’s not people that are ensuring that Bitcoin realizes the potential of empowerment, the potential of people controlling their money, of people controlling their life, of just better money, that void will be filled by people who will subvert it and co-opt it. The enemy is anyone that wants to make Bitcoin into Fiat 2.0, and that is a lot of people. That’s the incentive structure they want to introduce to Bitcoin, to make it similar to the world they came from. That’s the real worry I have.”
So we must fight, resist, and educate for #Bitcoin to realize its full potential as resistance money for the people, not Fiat2.0 to line the pockets of the rich in ETF’s, or to only be custodied by centralized exchanges, speculated on for its fiat price gains, etc.
Bitcoin is better money, opt out, and we must never let up ✊🏻🧡
