"The Yemeni Ansar Allah group, also known as the Houthis, claimed to have repelled a joint US-UK air forces attack, shooting down a US Navy F/A-18 fighter jet during an attack on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea. The group's military spokesman, Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, said that the attack involved eight cruise missiles and 17 unmanned aerial vehicles. The USS Harry S. Truman left its positions after the strikes, Saree added. This is not the first time the Houthis have attacked US vessels, as they also attacked a destroyer and three army supply vessels in the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea in early December."
