fucking loathe this one. It's always associated in my head with judgement - because those who "celebrate" it are -ever- so fucking judgemental about performing the ritual of the day "correctly".
It -must- be "merry christmas" and no other greeting is acceptable. Giving people money is barely acceptable, and means you didn't "care enough" to find them a "good" gift. As a kid, I had to perform gratitude well enough to appease the adults, but gods forbid I should show genuine joy because that would be "too loud" and "misbehaving" and result in punishment.
And don't even fucking get me started on the judgemental horseshit involved with the "real" xtians looking down on the "CAPE" ones.
