I don't know too much about that particular case, but I have seen the network fees vary quite dramatically and quickly just recently.

I just waited about two days, biding my time and watching, to move some sats within 15 minutes of actioning for just a few cents.

I stick with methods that let me control the fees then watch https://timechaincalendar.com/ for a good time with low fees.

(I know wallets like Sparrow show you the current fee ranges etc. but I like the timechain calendar because its easy and safer to keep open.)
