If you think about it, the adoption cycle of money is like the language integration and acquisition.

1. Store of value - recognition a target language (object) holds important meaning (value)
2. Medium of exchange - using the target language (money, object) to interact as it pertains to regularly occurring needs and wants relative to one's context
3. Unit of account - thinking and abstracting in the target language (money, object, basic unit of thought) which contributes to maximal intellectual leverage, efficiency, and cultural system organization

This also follows the process of integration.

1. Personal - store of value - subjective intrapersonal noticing of meaning, value
2. Semi-public - medium of exchange - one on one or a few
3. Public - unit of account - fully public and personal general thinking and behavior

This process of integration for a new target money, and a new target language, not to mention a new target interpersonally intimate relationship (marriage), is an indelible and unchangeable dimension of the nature of reality.
