I remember having fun with Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire (I think that's its name, seems like it from the wiki) after playing Armoured core: For answer for all it was worth (really wish I could emulate that). You command a squad for either a Zeon or the Federation campaign during the one year war. Kinda like a Mechwarrior type game allowing you to go from GMs and Zaku 1s all the way to the mass produced Gundams and I think Goufs.
Pretty cheap production but it does well at making you feel the weight and unwieldiness of the Mobile suits without the awful clunky controls of early Armoured Core.

Gundam Evolution is a pretty fun 5v5 arena shooter, though, I only ever play the ranged Zaku II in it with Goku's English VA as my pilot voice.
