Yes, it's a sad irony that since the USA's constitutional democratic republic is the oldest that we still use an old constitution that was written without a strong interest in voter turnout.
Somehow though I think that we've got to emerge from this period of vociferous tribalization and ginned up conflict by our media environment before we should start trying to amend it too much since some serious damage might possibly occur I fear.
