Dried berry powders have become a big thing in Finland in the last few years. Not sure if they're freeze-dryed, but wouldn't surprise me, as that's the best way to preserve flavour.
I tend to use mine in yoghurt or similar products as flavour. Also in overnight oats. I wouldn't personally expect them to have very strong flavour based on my experience so far. Though basically the longer they steep in the liquid, the more the flavour blooms, so to speak.
Not sure how fine your powder is, but mine aren't too fine, more like very fine sugar than actually dusty powders. Not sure if that has any effect on the results.
