I heard today from a friend who works in a largish government department in Te Whanganui-a-tara that they have had *hundreds* of applications for a Project Manager role. This suggests there is a lot of pain - and fear - out there at the moment. Although I was somewhat incredulous about this, I was assured that this large number of applications was true. Things are really bad in the public service at the moment.
