They did not know they had turned anything off, just the network had stopped, so I, a software engineer was dispatched to work out why the system that they could access had no network.... I literally followed the cable until I found the router (a Sun IPX, it was a while ago) which was under the floor unplugged. Oh that's no used anymore so we unplugged it...... They said they lost 10s of millions in the downtime....
