ah yeahhh... it's definitely a thing, i'm quite nervous about teh sea though, always super paranoid after having dropped one or two things into the canals in Amsterdam about the thought of being constantly surrounded by water and rocking in it all the time
but it's a great way for me to test my mettle and maybe bump into something new and fortunate that i would never have seen another way
i had been trying to think of a plan for what i would do with this year aside from working at my paid gig and doing more stuff with nostr but nothing was really ringing any bells until i realised that having a boat of sufficient size to live in and travel across the ocean gives me huge optionality and doesn't involve me going to yet another airport and being sardine squished in a noisy boeing for 8 hours and then all the airport again in a probably worse place, where instead i could be doing it with maritime customs and learning how to use a nautical radio and navigating by the stars
and omg, the thought of being completely out of sight of even dim lights on the horizon, and looking up at the stars... that makes this idea go from hmmm to yup this is what we are doing next
not thinking about it as a "so now i become a sea dog" but rather "this is how i find my way to where i will build my hermitage
