there are proposals for asking relays to delete or replace a message but not all clients or relays support that (most don't support it yet) and you shouldn't rely on it even if some clients or relays do start supporting it
your posts will be visible for as long as there are relays who store them, and relay operators make individual choices about when to prune their databases. If you are worried that a relay might prune your messages someday you can run your own relay, or backup your messages and put them on a storage service
