#Iceland can be extremely windy, especially in winter when it can be - but rarely is - as strong as a Category 4 hurricane, with wind speeds between 130 to 156 mph (210 to 250 kph.)

On this November afternoon, the strength of the gusts was high enough to lift the surface of the sea water. I'd never seen anything quite like it before.

The distant mountain is Mælifell (483m) in Múlaþing.
