If the LUGs were still striving my opinion on this would be different, but the LUGs are dead. The LUGs were killed by talent-less and lazy simpletons who think the smart phone was a good idea, and enterprise-grade and size of things are only for the "professionals".
We need to import the best and the brightest from all over the planet, because our "educational" system is not producing them.
The engineering interns at my work think its beneath them to master FreeCAD, and they only want to use SolidWorks at 10k per year per seating.
FreeCAD is excellent at creating fixtures, supports, prototypes for the production floor, and SolidWorks is excellent at designing space-stations and star-ships. We have 100% need for FreeCAD talents and 0% need for Solidworks talents.
I hope Musk start to import FreeCAD talents as well, because our own engineering interns are too arrogant to master it.
