A friend of mine is facing some legal issues. Yesterday he sent me a stack of paperwork to prove his innocence to me, because he didn’t want me to think he was a bad guy. I read them all, and the dude brought receipts: he’s, like, innocent-innocent.

And then the conversation turned to, hey, you haven’t been officially charged yet, and you don’t have a sick mom or something holding you there. Why the hell are you still there? He didn’t seem to have considered that option before.
