What would you call that confidence people on the streets taking part in protests have that convinces them that their words and verbal commands and demands are powerful enough to inoculate and protect them from physical violence? They always seem surprised when they're manhandled by LEOs. It's fascinating. I assume they understand the risk and that pitching a fit is part of the theatrics that make modern protests extra effective in a Social Media Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram Stories world.
