It’s about opportunity. Hence the GST “tax holiday.” We all love to hate taxes (though our taxes give us so much of what we love to love - a standard of health care, infrastructure, education, etc that routinely makes Canada the best place to live). When it comes to money, most of us are pretty illogical - or at least short-sighted w whatever logic we apply.
