Freedom of expression allows creation of an infinite number of political parties. The people are getting smarter about not falling for political promises and supporting the concept of long-term sustainability of human civilization.

There is a correlation between libertarian leanings and how people vote. There is also a correlation between the longevity/stability/prosperity of human civilization and a libertarian based culture.

The only true promise you get with libertarian culture is equality of opportunity.

Hence, politics is downstream from culture.
