The programmer in me who likes clear instructions cries.
Boil water, grind the coffee (to various degrees of coarseness).
Let water cool a bit, for various values of "a bit"
Pour the hot water in the French press to pre-heat it, then back in the kettle; or don't
Pour the coffee in the French press
Pour a little bit of water over the coffee, let it soak for up to 30 seconds; or don't
Pour hot water over the coffee, fill the French press
Stir; or don't
Put the lid/sieve onto the f.p. and push it down very slightly, so the sieve is just submerged; or don't
Wait for 3-5 minutes
If you didn't do 8, remove the floating ground coffee and the crema; or don't
Push down the sieve, pour the coffee into a mug.
