I'm really sick of hearing about software "products". No digital artifact is a product, hosted software even less so. All software is a service.
A product is something that once produced, remains independently useful until it isn't. It's either a single-use item like a loaf of bread, or a multi-use one like a spanner or a book.
It's like when people talk about financial "products". There's no such thing, only financial services (or dis-services, as the case may be). An e-book is not a product.
