There's a small town in rural Colorado that had no high speed Internet for years because a single rancher wouldn't grant an easement to Comcast. The easement was to attach to a pole line that was already on his property, and wouldn't have impacted his property in any way. He either hated Comcast or wanted much more $ than what was reasonable.

Back in the old days it would have been resolved with "free cable for life" and a handshake, but not in corporate world.
